Current Scholarships
To be eligible for the program, applicants must pursue a degree in engineering (specifically water, wastewater, transportation, structural), landscape architecture, land surveying, geology, hydrogeology, assessment and remediation, or environmental health and safety.
Applicants are also required to write an essay on why they consider themselves the best scholarship candidates.
The scholarship is renewable for up to three years, assuming the recipient maintains a 2.8 grade point average and is enrolled in an accredited school or training program.

Iowa School Counselor Association (ISCA) will be offering a scholarship to an Iowa high school graduate for the Class of 2025. The scholarship will be based on your essay about a school counselor that has made an impact in your life.
Scholarship Selection:
1) Applicants must be a 12th grade graduating student attending high school in Iowa.
2) Applicants must be willing to share their essay response with others and be aware essay might be distributed or published.
3) Applicants will be required to submit a 250 word (maximum) essay about a school counselor who made a difference during their K-12 career at the bottom of this form.

Legacy Awards are $4,000 scholarships available to children and grandchildren of Elks members.
Eligibility
- For the 2025 contest, any child or grandchild (or step-child, step-grandchild, or legal ward) of a living Elk who joined the Order on or before April 1, 2022, or a charter member of a Lodge that was instituted on or after April 1, 2022, is eligible to apply. The Elk must also be a paid-up member through March 31, 2025. Great-grandchildren are not eligible.

MidWestOne Bank administers the Pearl Hull Falk Trust which provides funds for the Pearl Hull Falk Scholarship. Prior to her death in 1965, Pearl Hull Falk resided in Iowa City where her husband was a prominent banker during the early 1900’s. The trust was established under the Last Will and Testament of Mrs. Falk to provide annual scholarships to needy and worthy students attending the University of Iowa.
Scholarships are awarded annually in the amount of $5,000.00 each. Awards will be paid in installments of $2,500.00 at the beginning of each semester and sent directly to the University of Iowa Office of Student Financial Aid.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Each recipient of the Pearl Hull Falk Scholarship must be:

FFBC awards annual scholarships to outstanding Iowa high seniors who advocate for inclusion, fight homophobia, and educate their schools and/or communities about lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBTQ) issues. Academic excellence, extracurricular activities and community involvement also factor into the awards.
The scholarships are $3,000 each. The number of awards varies each year based on the number and quality of applicants and the funds available.
Applicants must be Iowa residents and plan to pursue college or other post-secondary education. There is no restriction on the type or location of the institution where post-secondary education is obtained. Scholarships are awarded without regard to sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, transgender status, race, religion, marital status or employment status of the prospective recipient.
The FFBC Scholarship Selection Committee will notify recipients by May 1st. Scholarships will be awarded at the June breakfast meeting. Students are expected to attend to receive their scholarships. Recipients are encouraged to include their parents or other members of their support system.

The Iowa PGA Foundation awards a college scholarship in memory of Charlie Burkart. The purpose of the scholarship is to assist students in furthering their education. At least one high school graduate will be the 2025 recipient of $1,500 per year for 4 years. Any graduating high school senior residing within the boundaries of the Iowa PGA Section and the State of Iowa is eligible to apply.

The J. Curtis and Frances Forest Frymoyer Scholarship was created in 2001. This is a way for the Cedar County Historical Society to show our belief in the youth and the future of our county. The Karon Brown Award was established in 2021 as a tribute to Karon Brown who served the IGHSAU in a variety of roles for 43 years. The recipient of this award is recognized for excellence in the classroom, in athletics and must plan on a future in a sports-related field. Each year, Eastern Iowa REC awards 21 $1,000 scholarships to area high school seniors. The Cooperative’s scholarship program includes the “Bob Wiemerslage Memorial Scholarship” which is awarded to a student who plans to major in accounting. Wiemerslage was the Cooperative’s Division Manager of Accounting until his passing in 2019.
Fifteen scholarship winners will receive a $1,000 award, three in each district, that can be used to help defray the costs of attending any accredited college or university.
Five $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to students planning to pursue a trade-related degree at a community college, technical school or power line school.

Alliant Energy recognizes outstanding community leadership in young people and helps students reach their academic goals. We award $1,000 scholarships to up to 25 students annually through the Alliant Energy Innovation Scholarship program. We select recipients based on their leadership in community service activities and volunteer work; academic grade point average; standardized test scores; and a 300-word essay submission.
Eligibility guidelines
To be eligible, scholarship applicants must have participated in a leadership role in community service work or volunteer activities. They must also:
- Be 24 or younger.
- Be a dependent of a current customer of an Alliant Energy utility subsidiary (Interstate Power and Light or Wisconsin Power and Light), or be a current customer themselves.
- Have a cumulative high school grade point average between 2.5 and 4.0 on a 4.0 scale, or the equivalent. Emphasis will be placed on community service leadership activities.
- Reside within the Alliant Energy service territory at the time of application.
- Plan to enroll for the first time in a full-time undergraduate course of study at an accredited two- or four-year college or university, or vocational/technical school located within the Alliant Energy service territory.
Review criteria
A scholarship committee at Scholarship America will carefully review each application in search of the most deserving recipients. Judges consider several criteria, including:
- Leadership experience and community service or volunteer activities.
- Academic grade point average.
- The content of a 300-word essay submission.

William Fultz Award
Bill started an advertising agency that became the largest agricultural advertising agency in the world.
The Fultz scholarship will be awarded to a senior planning on studying communications, public relations and/or marketing.
Gerald Schnepf Award
Gerry’s career spanned 50 years of making Iowa a better place to live, work and raise a family.
The Schnepf scholarship will be awarded to a senior who has a record of community service and a desire to continue to support and contribute to the enhancement of the place they live and work. College programs could include community & regional planning and volunteer management.

The recipient shall be a person who shows a desire to improve his or her station in life through education and would return those benefits to the community. It is not necessary that the recipient be a top scholar or athlete. He or she should be a good citizen who expresses a desire to lead a life of service to our community and our country.
The recipient may pursue any course of studies, undergraduate or graduate level, at any educational organization, which normally maintains a regular faculty and curriculum (colleges, universities, nursing schools, technical schools, etc.) public or private. The Iowa State Elks Association is pleased to offer twenty (20) $1,500.00 Vocational Grants to individuals pursuing a vocational (2-year or less) training/educational program. These grants ARE NOT intended for students who will pursue a 4-year course of study eventually leading to a bachelor’s degree; this includes students attending a community college with the intent of continuing on to a four-year degree program. Applications received for persons ultimately pursuing a 4-year course of study will be disqualified from consideration.
THIS GRANT MAY BE USED FOR tuition and fees, room and board (only if living on campus), and books and supplies and only for usual and required costs of the applicant's planned course of study. This Grant MAY NOT BE USED FOR child-care costs, part-time study or correspondence courses. It may not be used for general living expenses, rent, mortgage payments, automobile expenses for use or maintenance of a vehicle.
