WHAT IS A VOTED PPEL?

A voted Physical Plant and Equipment Levy (PPEL) is a voter-approved levy that generates funds a school district can use for infrastructure and equipment repairs, purchases, and improvements. Funds may be used only for these purchases.

On Tuesday, March 4, 2025, Lisbon Community School District voters will consider renewing the voted PPEL through 2036 at the existing rate of $1.34 per $1,000 of taxable property value. The levy must be renewed every 10 years to allow local districts to access these funds (this will not raise property taxes).

WHAT IF THE VOTED PPEL IS RENEWED?

With a renewal of PPEL, we would continue to address our facility and equipment needs, including:

  • Repairing and maintaining our current facilities
  • Addressing needs associated with our HVAC systems
  • School security improvements
  • Technology purchases
  • Replacing our transportation fleet
  • Additional key facilities projects

A voted PPEL is a cost-effective way to protect our district’s assets, be fiscally responsible, and ensure that our students are provided a quality learning environment for years to come.
